unwavering passion
Northboat Story
Founded in July 13, 2015 by Jean-François Pitot and Romain Desvaux, Northern Boatworks, now known as Northboat, draws its inspiration from a shared passion for boating.
Initially, the project was to design a boat for personal use, but in response to a growing demand, Northboat was officially established.
The company's first steps took place in Solitude, in a modest 20m2 space, marked by the creation of the Bay Master 185.
In the early days, the team consisted of three members, including Afzal, the current production manager, who still holds this position today who has more than 20 years expertise in this field.
Northboat began its journey with the Bay Master 185 models, specifically designed for shallow waters, in particular St Brandon, thanks to an innovative tunnel.
At the same time, the Bay Master 135 was launched.
The company's core values emerged from an initial passion for boating and the sea, with the original vision of establishing itself in the local Mauritian naval industry.
Today, this vision extends to the international market, with an established presence in the Indian Ocean and neighbouring islands such as Reunion and the Seychelles.
Northboat aims to offer a global service in the nautical field, covering: travel, rental, maintenance and after-sales service.

A core value of the company is the promotion of local manpower, through investment in training to ensure a more secure future.
The aim is to reinforce Mauritian know-how in naval production, thus guaranteeing long-term expertise in this field in Mauritius.
